It was all smiles and joy staff members started serving the senior citizens with different types delicacies. The elderly showed appreciation with ululations.
OK Store manager, Mr. Calvin Daniel Tackie, who was visibly over the moon and said over the years and he realized the need to do something for the elderly a token of appreciation and to revive their relationship with the community.
"This program is the first of its kind for this store. The people have been very supportive and I think it is about time we give back to them. And as you can see, the pensioners are very happy today and seeing them happy makes me happy as well. It is our responsibility to take care of them as they can no longer take care of themselves,” said Tackie.
“This program was a huge success for us considering that it is our first. It will help us to interact personally with the pensioners so that they can tell us their grievances and how we can improve as a store," he added.
Mr. Willy Nyalungu, praised OK Store for coming up with an initiative that takes care of the pensioners in the community. "I love this initiative and wish it can be done every day. It shows that we are taken care of and we are respected as the pensioners. I am grateful to be part of it and I wish OK can continue with this great and selfless gesture towards the pensioners," he added.
